A native of nearby village Sekha, Mastana had an urge to get masses out of the unnecessary religious rituals and due to this many a times he used to get the wrath of religious figures, said writer Megh Raj Mittar Mittar said once Sikh clerics had taken strong notice of his book ‘Adam to Aaj tak’, in which he had dig at some rituals.

Our father a long back had wished his body be donated to a medical college for research purposes and we have only fulfilled his last wish by handing over the body to DMC, said Mastana’s son Sukhpal Singh. He said whole family was united in handing over the body in spite of cremating it.
